Now that the clocks have gone forward and the evenings are drawing out we can look forward to the coming of summer. This time of year in the Altiplano de Granada is always beautiful. There is an abundance of wild flowers and butterflies. On the flat planes between Castril and Huescar and dotted along side the roads between, there is normally an abundance of red poppies. Definitely one of the best times in the year to visit! We have a number of new properties on our books, from caves to a lovely old village cortijo with an abundance of original features! We now also have a new page on the website, with events and local news. Some good news for the area is the approval of the new airport in Murcia – Corvera due to open in 2009. Although there have been improvements to Murcia – San Javier airport in the past year it is still a good two hours away. The new airport will be around 1hr 30 to 2hrs away so a realistic alternative to Granada and Almeria. We would also like to announce the winner of two night’s accommodation at Cortjio Sierra Castril. Who is Mr Charles Isles Mr Isles has won this fantastic opportunity to see what Castril and the surrounding areas have to offer. But also an opportunity to see what property is available here in this beautiful area of Spain! |
